Clear Sound was contracted to install a new Meyer loudspeaker system in the Temple Performing Arts Center, formally known as the Baptist Temple. The system includes 24 M’elodie Ultracompact High Power Curvilinear Array Loudspeakers along with six 500-HP subwoofers. The Gaileo 616 digital signal processor is used to control the system. Clear Sound is the exclusive dealer of Meyer Sound products in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
The Baptist Temple was built 120 years ago but was only purchased by the university in 1974. It is certified by the Philadelphia Historical Commission as a Historic Building and was designated as a Landmark Building by the American Institute of Architects in 2003.
Throughout its history, The Baptist Temple was an important stop for Martin Luther King Jr, Helen Keller, President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Margaret Mead. Today the Temple Performing Arts Center is the newest addition to the north end Avenue of the Arts. The customer was very pleased with the outcome of this installation as reaches their goals for the performance space.
